In certain circumstances, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, or a designee, may impose a University or University housing suspension prior to the hearing. The University reserves the right to exercise its authority of interim suspension upon notification that a student is facing criminal investigation and/or complaint.
Code Category: interim suspension
Interim suspension may be imposed: to ensure the safety and well-being of members of the University community or preservation of University property; to ensure the student’s own physical or emotional safety and well-being; or if the student poses a threat of physical disruption of, or interference with, the normal operations of the University.
The student may request, in writing, an appeal of the interim suspension to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, within three working days of imposition of the suspension. An appeal hearing will be conducted without undue delay by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs or designee.
